The Level Three course (Response to Marine Oil Spills Seminar for Administrators/Senior Managers) is designed to be conducted as an intensive 3 day seminar.
With a potentially wide audience it is important that the seminar be delivered within the local context of the participants. When preparing the seminar, it is the responsibility of the instructional staff to establish the seminar objectives and content in relation to the participants and the relevant contingency plans. This is further addressed in the section “Instructor Qualifications and Preparation”.
Each module has a clearly stated objective and several enabling objectives. These objectives state what the participant is expected to achieve at the end of the module (session objective) and during the module (enabling objective). It is important to note that the objectives are not guidelines for instructors of what is expected while facilitating the subject matter. The instructor’s role during the session is to ensure that the participants can achieve what the objectives state. Instructional processes should be inserted when preparing a module. This will allow the participants to meet the requirements of enabling objectives.
