This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform welding inspection activities in accordance with industry standards and best practices. It covers welding processes, weld defects, materials, inspection techniques, destructive and non-destructive testing methods, welder and procedure qualifications, codes and standards, and safe working practices. The program is designed to prepare candidates for the CSWIP Welding Inspector examination and support effective quality control in welding operations.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

In addition, candidates meeting the C S W IP requirements for eligibility complete the relevant C S W IP examination on day 6.
Additional Information
All candidates must attend a CSWIP-approved course of training prior to examination. Enrolment on this course does not constitute reservation for an examination. All courses may be followed by a CSWIP Welding Inspector examination for candidates with appropriate experience as specified in CSWIP document WI-6-92.
Entry Requirements
- Welding Inspector for a minimum of 3 years with experience related to the duties and responsibilities listed in Clause 1.2.2 of CSWIP document WI-6-92, under qualified supervision, independently verified; OR
- Certified Visual Welding Inspector for a minimum of 2 years with responsibilities in the areas listed in Clauses 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 of CSWIP document WI-6-92; OR
- Welding Instructor or Welding Foreman/Supervisor for a minimum of 5 years.
